CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: |
What makes CCCFLC conferences so great? Well, apart from our fabulous attendees, we typically have wonderful presenters! If you'd like to present at the 2024 CCCFLC conference, we're always looking for interesting and engaging presentations, particularly in lesser represented languages. Below is a list of topics that our members have indicated interest in-- it is in no way exhaustive. We request that all presentations be as interactive as possible. Please also keep in mind that it does not need to be a one-person presentation. Pairs, groups, discussions, panels, remote presenters (via Zoom) and, especially student participants, are all welcomed and appreciated. If you're interested in presenting, please complete and submit this (editable) online presentation application form by Friday, September 27, 2024.

KEYNOTE: |
We are very excited to announce that this year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Alegría Ribadeneira, winner of the 2020 Open Educator Award.
Dr. Alegría Ribadeneira is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of English and World Languages at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Dr. Ribadeneira regularly presents at regional, national, and international conferences where she shares her expertise regarding best practices for language teaching. Her presentations highlight the benefits of project-based, content-based, and community-based instruction paired with open educational practices. She is involved in heritage language teaching advocacy and participates as lead instructor for the NHLRC (National Heritage Language Resource Center) summer workshop. Dr. Ribadeneira is the recipient of several teaching awards including the 2017 Olga E. Kagan Award for advancing heritage language education in institutions of learning, the 2020 Colorado Excellence in Teaching Award from the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers, the 2020 Post-Secondary Excellence in Teaching Award from the Southwest Congress of Language Teaching, and the Global Educator Award from Open Education Global. Dr. Ribadaneira will be joining us remotely from Colorado State University Pueblo where they have created an inspiring OER program. During the first breakout session, she will also provide a follow-up discussion to allow for questions and answers. We are certain she will be a tremendous source of information for everyone interested in OER education, heritage speaker programs, leveraging AI in the foreign language classroom, and more. She will include a wide range of topics in her presentation, something for everyone. |
