CCCFLC CONFERENCE DATES APPROACH
Our annual conference will be split into two affordable meetings: Riverside on Friday, October 15, and San Francisco on Friday, October 22.
The Riverside meeting will be held at Riverside Community College and begin at 9AM. The morning session will feature Professors Cathy Collopy O'Donnell and Kathryn Kelly speaking about "Changing Demographics and Their Impact on Language Classes." This is followed by a plenary session and results of the barriers to study abroad survey compiled by Orange Coast College.
In the afternoon, there will be a session on Spanish for Spanish speakers led by Prof. Maria Carreira of CSU-Long Beach, and sectional meetings by language.
The San Francisco meeting will focus on Project IMPAC and FL, and bring together members from the UC and CSU, as well as the CCCFLC. The meeting will take place at the City College of San Francisco Downtown Campus at 4th and Mission; this campus is near the Powell Street BART/Muni stations.
Costs for either day are $30 for full-time and $25 for part-time faculty, with an additional $15 for nonmembers.
Please mark your calendars and send in your registration now for these events! (Click here for the registration form)

TUITION INCREASES, BUT $50 BA-HOLDER TUITION IS NOT IMPLEMENTED
Many colleges began the new year in good shape, and FL departments have reason to be cheerful as, while tuition increased to $26 a unit, at least the $50 BA-holder differential tuition was not put in place. We still remain the most reasonable way to acquire a language.
