| PASADENA AND SAN FRANCISCO FALL MEETINGS SET | ||
| Following the well-attended meetings we held last fall at Orange Coast College and City College of San Francisco, the CCCFLC will again offer two one-day meetings on Fridays in October. This shorter meeting plan keeps costs down and permits more people to attend-- especially in these days of NO travel budget. | ||
| The first session in the south will be Friday, October 3 at Pasadena City College. The College has a broad foreign language program, teaching classes in Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian and Spanish. The meeting will take place at the Community Education Center, Foothill Blvd at Sierra Madre Villa Blvd, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Topics to be discussed include promotion of language classes and the impact of the new accreditation standards involving assessment on foreign languages. | ||
| The northern meeting will be Friday, October 17 at City College of San Francisco. One topic to be discussed will be assessment within the context of the new accreditation standards, which require outcome studies. We will also hold a roundtable discussion of online language courses. The meeting in the north will begin in the City College electronic class room in the library and then continue in Cloud Hall 334. | ||
| We solicit your ideas on other issues you would like to present/discuss. Please contact President Patricia Scarfone or Executive Director Tom Blair with your suggestions. Cost for the meeting will be $25 for full-time and $20 for part-time faculty, including lunch. | ||
